(February 19, 2009) – Avoid impulse buying and you’ll avoid impulse checkbook balance reduction.  Before you go shopping, make a shopping list.  Check out sales, particularly at the grocery store.

When you arrive at the store, buy only what’s on the list. Don’t think about buying anything else, no matter how tempting.

If you’re at one of the strip malls like those dotting Jacksonville, don’t go into the other stores. The goal is to buy only what you need.

Avoid temptation. Enjoy defeating the marketing efforts of the stores.
